| I must be one of the luckiest fans! I got another chance to see Queen +
Paul Rodgers shows, and met Jamie again so soon. I went to see Anaheim
and San Jose shows in the US with my friends. I went to the shows with a mixture of hope and anxiety because it was my first experience to see the rock show in the US. Fortunately, our seats were in the stands. So I could see the band very well, without being buried by big American people. And I first could see the whole lightings. I mean, I was in the forward arena seats at the Japanese shows and couldn't see the gimmicks. Both Anaheim and San Jose shows had the same set lists. I loved the new songs that were not played in Japan. Even 'Under Pressure' was new to me, as I didn't go to the UK & Europe tour. I was impressed by Brian's falsetto vocal in the second verse. And I could hear Jamie's vocals very well. He also gave the falsetto on backing vocals. He's really amazing, he can manage anything. Roger called Jamie "a real band man" at the show in Japan. Totally! Jamie is absolutely amazing. 'Dragon Attack' was awsome! I guess having this song in the set list was a challenge because Paul is bluesy rather than funky. But the band helped him very well and make him funky. Especally, Roger's drums were really cool! And I think Three Amigos (Spike, Jamie and Danny) played a big part in these two songs. Well done Three Amigos! I realized that 'Another One Bites The Dust' is still very popular to American people. They were excited with it the most and it was very interesting. Actually I got culture shock thing on many occasions. For instance, They left their seats very often to buy beers or snacks during the show. Japanese people don't leave the seats easily. We are so desperate not to miss every single moment of the show. And American people didn't do the Ga Ga handclapping! It was unbelievable. The Ga Ga handclapping is one of the highlights of the show to Japanese fans. But there were only a few who did the handclapping at both shows. Even the band showed the handclapping, most of the people didn't follow it. UNBELIVABLE!!! When people were calling for the encore, they light up their cell phones and it was very beautiful. It would never happen in Japan because we must off the cell phones at the shows. San Jose show had a little attraction and it was very amusing. Roger wore the sombrero when he played the drum solo, and Three Amigos also wore the sombreros and danced with the drums. They were so funny! When Paul, Brian and Roger were greeting to the audience on the cat walk at the end of the San Jose show, I hopped and waved my hands very big to Three Amigos. First, Spike and then Danny noticed it and waved back to me. But Jamie didn't notice to the end even he stood between Spike and Danny! How could you, Jamie?! I went to the backstage at the both shows. It was really really great to meet the band and my dear Jamie again. And I was very glad that the band crews remembered me and my friends. To be honest, I hesitated to go to the US at first for some reasons. But now I can say it was the right decision to go there. I had really great time there and I'm very happy that I didn't miss such a great oppotunity. When I said goodbye to Jamie, he said "see you again." I wish it would come ture. If I get another chance to see him, I would never hesitate then. |
