It was just so great to see Jamie on the
Japanese TV!! This event was televised on
live in Japan as well, and they showed the
whole event - it's great, isn't it? I heard
that CH4 in England didn't show the whole
event - some were missed and some were edited.
I'm so sorry for this....
First, Jamie appeared with QUEEN &
Five
(I know people call this unit
"Five
& QUEEN" but, TO ME, it's
"QUEEN
& Five"!! :-)) to play "Tie
Your Mother Down". He was wearing
black
leather jacket, black singlet (I guess),
black leather trousers, black boots
- all
in black, the cowboy hat as usual
and
those blue glasses. And he was focused
with
the camera a couple of times even though
there was Brian, Roger and Five
on stage!
Amazing, isn't it?! He was playing
all smiles
- sometimes walked to Roger's drums
then
back to the mike for the backing vocal.
Then, he showed up again on the finale with
the SAS Band. This time he put on black
leather coat and red aloha shirt (which he
was wearing at the QUEEN convention - you
can see the photo at the Photo Gallery page
3 on this website), and other things
were the same as the first time, but no glasses!
(Good!!)
First only the band was on stage and they
played the medley of the hits. So Jamie was
mainly focused with the camera and I
was able to see him playing very well. Great!
Then Marti Pellow came on stage and sung
one song (I forgot the title -"I wish"
or something?). Next, Suggs showed up,
and Jamie took off his leather coat (he must
be hot!) Suggs sung "Hit Me With Your"
and "It Must Be Love". Then Martine
McCutcheon showed up and sung "Hot Stuff",
Lionel Richie sung "Dancing On The Ceiling"
and "All Night Long". The last
song was "With A Little Help From My
Friend" with all these singers and Brian
May.
For me, this Finale is the second best
SAS Band play I've ever seen. (The best play
is the VH1 live show in 1995.) I knew most
of the tracks and was enjoyed very much,
as they were the hits of when I was younger
and enjoyed various music much more
than these days. Especially, seeing Jamie
playing "Hot Stuff" or "All
Night Long" was great. I love to see
Jamie playing the new repertoires. In fact
I don't know if those tracks were new to
him, but at least new to me. Jamie was the
person who mainly focused with the camera
in second on the finale, so that I could
see his play very well. (The singers was
focused most, of course.)
It was only about 30 minutes stage, but it
was absolutely superb and was enough
to show the people how talented Jamie is.
